We can’t wait to see Ghostface again in Scream 6, which will be released in cinemas next month as Scream 6.

After releasing a teaser trailer for the horror sequel in December 2022, Paramount ultimately published the full trailer for the film in January 2023. It offered us our first view of Kirby’s comeback and, among other things, made us worried for Gale’s safety.

Scream 2022’s “requel” events are transferred to New York City and fan favorites, including Jenna Ortega’s Tara return. Unfortunately, only Courteney Cox from the original cast is returning.

Learn more about it and what to expect from Ghostface’s return in our thorough guide to Scream 6.

Tara and her roommate, Quinn Bailey, have moved in with Sam and Tara in New York City, where Tara attends Blackmore University. Sam has been outcasted by society after a widespread online theory claimed she was the murderer. After Ghostface attacks the sisters, he leaves behind a Ghostface mask identical to the one used in the Woodsboro killings in 2011.

At the NYPD station, the sisters run across Wayne Bailey, a detective, and Quinn’s father. They also encounter FBI agent Kirby Reed and journalist Gale Weathers. Ghostface kills Sam’s therapist and flees with his papers and the mask he wore in the Hollywood killings. Mindy speculates that the killer follows the canonical law of film franchises: any character may die as long as the tale continues.

Anika and Quinn are slain as Ghostface attacks the group at their flat. Ghostface removes a mask he wore during the Windsor College massacre, and Sam’s boyfriend, Danny, assists the others in their escape.

The group intends to meet Kirby at an abandoned theater to capture Ghostface. Following Chad’s attack, Wayne and Kirby reveal themselves as the third Ghostface and the brains behind the assault. After framing Sam for Richie’s death, the trio confesses that they are Richie’s family out for vengeance.

When Sam and Tara acquire the upper hand in their battle against the Baileys, Sam murders Quinn and stabs Ethan. Sam dons her father’s Ghostface mask, uses a voice changer to ridicule Wayne, and finally stabs him to death. Kirby murders Ethan by breaking the TV that killed Stu Macher over his head when he returns.

Tara’s wish for more independence is granted, and she takes the offer of psychiatric treatment. Sam watches Mindy, Chad, and Kirby bring her father’s Ghostface mask to the hospital before tossing it away and following Tara and Danny into the city.
