Young Sheldon officially wraps filming, with stars Iain Armitage and Raegan Revord sharing emotional tributes on social media. In less than a month, Young Sheldon will air its special one-hour finale. Specific details about it are still being tightly kept under wraps, although it has already been confirmed that Jim Parsons and Mayim Bialik will appear as Sheldon and Amy. Aside from the much-anticipated cameos, the fate of Sheldon and the rest of the Coopers has already been determined, with production for the show now finished.

Sheldon and Missy actors, Iain Armitage and Raegan Revord, as well as director Alex Reid, take it to Instagram to announce the end of Young Sheldon‘s filming. Check out their posts below:

What To Expect In The Final Episodes Of Young Sheldon

Young Sheldon Still Has Some Stories Left To Tell.

Despite the end of filming, Young Sheldon still has seven episodes left in its run. On the heels of Mandy and Georgie’s wedding episode, the family will deal with the fallout from Meemaw’s arrest and the unexpected bathroom issue at home. Beyond that, details are still scant, but the creators have previously confirmed that Tam will make his return in season 7, which is something that has yet to happen. Meanwhile, Young Sheldon season 7’s biggest missing character, Dr. Sturgis, will also make an appearance, as confirmed by a BTS image.

Arguably, the biggest remaining plot in Young Sheldon is the confirmed death of George. The unexpected nature of his demise makes it difficult to pinpoint when exactly he will meet his end. He can die anytime moving forward, which makes it so much more nerve-wracking. It’s dubious that Young Sheldon will wait until the very last minute to pull off his demise, especially since the cast seemingly filmed his funeral. Whatever the case may be, expect that George’s death will be the beginning of the emotional end of the Coopers’ Medford story.

Young Sheldon Season 7 Is Running Out Of Time To Fix Its Problematic Story Focus

Young Sheldon season 7’s storytelling direction would have been good if the prequel wasn’t in its final year. Now, it’s running out of time to fix it.

Recent set images, on the other hand, tease Sheldon’s arrival at Caltech, which becomes his post-graduate school and place of employment in The Big Bang Theory. Whether that will be the parting shot of Young Sheldon is uncertain. That said, it seems like the perfect way to cap off his childhood and transition him to the life that he will eventually live in Pasadena.

Young Sheldon season 7 airs every Thursday, 8pm ET on CBS.
