Dragon’s Dogma 2: Spellbound Quest Walkthrough

The Spellbound quest has you hunting down 5 grimoires across the world, but the Maister spells for Sorcerer and Mage are more than worth it.

The perfect example of a deceiving quest would be the Oxcart Courier Quest. On the surface, this seems like a pretty straight forward quest, but once you start it, you’ll realize you might be in over your head. Luckily, there are various techniques you can use to complete this mission without dying, too often anyway.

About Oxcart Courier Quest

You’ll receive this quest from Donovan around the cart station when you’re in Vernworth. After he’s done speaking, he will ask if you can deliver a letter to Ser Lennart from Lady Margit. You will need to travel to Melve to find Lennart and deliver the letter. As with many other quests, this quest will be timed, so there is the possibility of failing if you don’t deliver the letter to Lennart fast enough.

Traveling To Melve

Utilize the oxcart and travel to Melve. When you board, you can choose to sleep to make the time go by faster. You will most likely wake up abruptly to the sounds of yelling as a Minotaur along with other enemies begin attacking. It is recommended you take out the varying smaller enemies, goblins, hobgoblins, and wolves before taking on the Minotaurs.

Beware, there might be more than one Minotaur lurking around, and the oxcart will be unable to continue on its journey until the enemies are defeated. If there is more than one, try to focus on one at a time, so it doesn’t become too daunting. This fight can get extremely frustrating, especially if this is the first time you’re attempting to defeat a Minotaur.

It will be weak against fire, so use any fire skills you or your pawns may have and try to focus on attacking the legs. Once it stumbles and falls to the ground, you can get a few good hits. Keep your distance when it begins attacking, as your health will be drained very quickly from just one hit.

Arriving In Melve

The Dragon's Dogma 2 character arrived in Melve to deliver a letter to Lennart but is up against an unexpected dragon.

When you arrive at Melve, there may be a cut scene as everyone races to try and defeat a dragon. If this occurs, you’ll notice it will have multiple health bars you must deplete to defeat it. You’ll want to attack the drake on the throbbing sores located on its legs, face, and various other spots.

Watch out for the acid it spews as it will drain your health bar fairly quickly. After the health bar goes down a couple of notches, it will fly away. Depending on your progression in the game, this could lead to unlocking the Mystic Spearhand vocation. Don’t fret if this doesn’t happen, you might just have to progress the story a bit with Brant.

After the fight, you are free to search for Lennart to deliver the letter. He may be standing under the archway at the entrance of the town where you first entered from. If he isn’t there, search the town. Check near the well, at his house, or outside the Inn that’s next to his house. When you find him, simply speak to him and deliver the letter. You will need to report back to Donovan in Vernworth to complete the quest. He will be located near the cart station.

Rewards

The Dragon's Dogma 2 character is reporting back to Donovan in Vernworth to complete the Oxcart Courier quest.

As a reward for your bravery in delivering the letter, you will receive 300 XP, 5,000 gold, and the Miner Hosen armor.
