Samsung has announced that it will showcase its latest SmartThings technology at the 2023 International IoT Home Appliance Robot Expo, with a focus on sustainable everyday living and energy saving.

In “Net Zero Home”, you can not only use the energy produced through solar panels, but also monitor or reduce the energy consumption of household appliances or the entire home through SmartThings.

In particular, the “Resident DR (Demand Response)” service project was introduced, in which Samsung Electronics cooperates with Korea Electric Power Corporation, Seoul Metropolitan City, and Nago City to provide energy.

Samsung Electronics SmartThings Energy helps residents succeed in DR by reducing energy consumption by automatically switching associated products into AI saving mode or turning off energy when DR is issued by energy exchange or local government during peak energy consumption hours.

This function supports a total of nine types of home appliances from Samsung Electronics, including air conditioners, refrigerators, washers, dryers, dishwashers and televisions, as well as smart devices from partner companies.

The exhibition space themed “Everyday Sustainability” presents resource circulation solutions created through partnerships.
