Putin’s propagandists have been spewing lines about a nuclear war on Russian TV

Threats about attacks on Nato nations – including Britain – are ten a penny on television in Russia.

Dmitry Kiselyov is the latest of Vladimir Putin’s propagandists to have issued an ultimatum to both the UK and US.

The presenter warned that if a Western power deploys soldiers on the ground in Ukraine to ‘inflict a strategic defeat on Russia’, it would result in an Armageddon.

An excerpt of the broadcast was shared on X, showing the latest nuclear threat.

Kiselyov said: ‘If Nato countries send their troops into Ukraine in order to inflict a strategic defeat on Russia, then the very moment about which Putin once said, “Why do we need the world, if there is no Russia in it?” would come.

‌’Then everything [all types of missile] would be launched by us, in every direction – Sarmats [Satan-2s], Yars, and Avangards.

‌’American decision-making centres, and launchers on land and at sea are already in their sights.

‌’France as a nuclear power will have to be disarmed instantly. The British Isles will simply go under water.

‌’There are technologies for this… but it’s better not to let things get to that point.’

It comes after French president Emmanuel Macron said the West should not rule out sending troops into Ukraine.

Other Nato leaders have been more circumspect, despite the difficult summer Ukraine is set to face amid speculation that the Kremlin will only intensify attacks.

Kiselyov added: ‘This is not propaganda.

‌’In our programme 10 years ago, in 2014, we said – possibly, for the first time – that guaranteed retribution was inevitable.

‌’Do not drive Russia into a corner. Russia is the only country in the world that is truly capable of turning the United States into radioactive ash.’

Despite warnings from Russia that Nato is too involved in the war with its military aid to Ukraine, secretary-general Jens Stoltenberg stressed that allies ‘have not delivered what they promised’.

He said that ‘serious delays in support have meant serious consequences on the battlefield’ for Ukraine.

‘The lack of ammunition has allowed the Russians to push forward along the front line,’ he added.

‘Lack of air defence has made it possible for more Russian missiles to hit their targets, and the lack of deep strike capabilities has made it possible for the Russians to concentrate more forces.’
