Story
Raghava Rao (Prakash Raj), a legendary theatrical actor who has commanded the stage for decades, chooses to retire on a high note to spend more time with his family. While his intentions are good, he finds it difficult to accept the new reality of a changing landscape, self-centered family members, and his glory days on the stage now behind him.

Rangamarthanda, the return film of star director Krishna Vamsi, proved to be a suitable translation of the Marathi film Natsamrat, starring Nana Patekar and directed by Mahesh Majrekar, which was based on a play by writer Kusumagraj. Krishna Vamsi carefully and brilliantly reworked the picture to appeal to Telugu tastes. The film exposes a heartbreaking family story that lingers and makes the spectator reflect while portraying the hardship of a performer caught in his golden days. In the opening, an homage to the ‘actor,’ Nenoka Natudni, a visual montage of Telugu actors from the past to the present with Chiranjeevi’s narration, adds a particular touch and brings back beautiful memories.

These characters are crafted with delicate refinement and broad appeal. Ali Reza portrays Siddhu, and acting coach Satyananda, as Satyananda, gets to live his actual life on television.
The cast’s superb performances elevate the film to another level. Prakash Raj and Brahmanadam, who have long been recognized for their exceptional acting abilities, have outdone themselves in this film. Both of them have achieved the pinnacle of their verbal and nonverbal communication. Keep an eye out for a moment when both characters recall and reenact dialogue from an old play they once performed. Prakash Raj performed navarasas, and Brahmanadam emotionally bonded the audience. Ramya Krishnan, too, adds her genius gently to the mix. Shivathmika is a pleasant surprise who dazzles everyone with her acting abilities. Rahul Sipligunj brings a new perspective and creates a few rib-tickling moments with his Telangana vernacular and vibrant discussions. Anasuya, a wise daughter-in-law, and Aadarsh, a son and husband trapped in between, add to the drama.
Maestro Ilaiyaraja’s music and Sirivennela Sitaramasastri’s words will heighten the effect and emotionally stir the audience. While the cinematography is good, the editing might have been better. Raj K Nalli shot the film, while Pavan VK and Babu Srungavarapu edited it.
This emotionally riveting family story may lack commercial features, but despite its flaws, the picture will keep the viewer engaged and has worldwide appeal. Prakash Raj and Brahmanandam delivered unforgettable performances. Keep an eye on it.
