A hijacker armed with a BB gun smashed a bus into several vehicles before crashing into a luxury hotel.
The dramatic scenes unfolded in Los Angeles at around 11.10pm on Wednesday.
Only the driver was on board when the suspect got on board.
He told the driver to ‘just drive’ and reached into his waistband as if he had a gun.
He grabbed the steering wheel which led the bus to crash into other cars before finally smashing into the wall of a Ritz-Carlton hotel.
The offender fled the scene, but officers made an arrest later and the suspect was locked up for an investigation of kidnapping.
A BB gun resembling a handgun was found near the bus stop, Los Angeles Police Department said.
The bus driver, who was not identified, was taken to a hospital for treatment and later released.
The injured motorist was in a stable condition, the force confirmed.
