Lorraine viewers have slammed an interview the talk show host did with Norah Jones.

On Thursday’s episode of the ITV programme, the noughties music star appeared to speak about her new album Visions.

However, the following few minutes left those watching on at home cringing.

After the first topic of conversation between the pair briefly centred on the colour of the album’s vinyl’s, Lorraine then asked the performer if she was excited about the album being out.

‘I am. Making music is fun,’ she responded.

After Lorraine said, ‘fun is the world because a lot of this music is uplifting’, Norah agreed before saying ‘there’s some darkness on it too, it’s not a party record’.

‘Yea…it’s got some good stuff on it,’ she added.

They then started chatting about Norah’s upcoming US tour, which Lorraine mentioned was in April, before being corrected and told it was actually May.

The host then asked Norah about taking her kids on tour or whether she liked to ‘separate work and family’.

Conversation then moved to Breaking Bad, with Lorraine asking Norah if she had been surprised when the show had used one of her songs on an episode a few years ago.

‘Well, you usually know because you have to give approval but yea, yea, it was cool,’ she responded.

Another awkward interaction came when Lorraine asked about Norah doing pottery as a hobby, however the singer said she hadn’t done it ‘in a long time’.

She was then asked if she liked to walk with her dog or alone when they spoke about how she liked to switch off and relax.

After the interview aired, viewers shared their thoughts on social media.

‘Poor Lorraine. That was a tough interview with Norah Jones and her two-word answers!’ Tom posted on X.

‘God I feel for Lorraine. Not sure Norah Jones is a morning person, although she perked up talking about pottery. Well done for persevering Lorraine,’ Jools shared.

‘Bloody hell this interview is so awkward,’ Emma added.

Last month viewers also weighed in on an ‘awful’ interview on the show with One Day star Leo Woodall.

The actor was on to promote the Netflix series, however his brief responses led people to question if he wanted to be there, with one saying it was ‘the most excessively relaxed interview’ they’d ever seen.

Lorraine airs weekdays at 9am on ITV1.
