EastEnders and Strictly Come Dancing star Bobby Brazier has landed a huge new role alongside 24 other major stars.
The Freddie Slater actor is set to swap Albert Square for Stamford Bridge as he joins the line-up for this year’s Soccer Aid for UNICEF alongside a whole host of other famous faces, including World Cup hero Jill Scott, singer Robbie Williams, athlete Usain Bolt, I’m A Celebrity winner Sam Thompson and a range of TV personalities including Lee Mack and Paddy McGuinness.
‘To have the opportunity to take part in this year’s Soccer Aid for UNICEF is amazing!’ Bobby said.

‘I’m hoping that all my dance training will help with my endurance when I’m up against Usain Bolt and company! It might even give me the twinkle toes needed for some silky skills – we’ll see!’
Soccer Aid is an annual event that sees two football teams with a star-studded line-up – England and Soccer Aid World XI FC – go head-to-head.
More famous faces are set to be revealed in the coming weeks but those announced today for World XI include Mauricio Pochettino as manager, Jesus Perez as the team coach and athlete Usain Bolt leads on the pitch as team captain.
Professional footballers Eden Hazard and Roberto Carlos, actor and former professional footballer Martin Compston, comedian Maisie Adam, radio host and TV personality Roman Kemp, comedian Lee Mack, professional boxer Tommy Fury and Gladiator’s Diamond form the rest of the team.
On team England, who have won five times since Soccer Aid began in 2006, the line-up boasts professional footballer and manager Frank Lampard and Harry Redknapp as captains, and World Cup hero Jill Scott and singer Robbie Williams as managers.
Meanwhile, comedian and TV presenter Paddy McGuinness and professional goalie David James are taking on the role of goalkeeper, coached by David Seaman.
Jermain Defoe, Jack Wilshere, Karen Carney and Gary Cahill are the professionals heading up the team, joined by singer Tom Grennan, businessman Steven Bartlett, actress Erin Doherty, athlete Sir Mo Farah, presenter Alex Brooker, cricketer Stuart Broad, actor Bobby Brazier and TV personality Sam Thompson.
The event will be hosted by former footballer Alex Scott and TV presenter Dermot O’Leary.
‘I’ve been so lucky to see some of the work made possible by Soccer Aid for UNICEF helping children around the world to get the absolute best start in life and giving them the chance to just be children, even in the toughest of situations,’ Alex revealed.
‘This year’s Soccer Aid for UNICEF is back in London and with such an incredible line up, I can’t wait to be a part of it.
‘The money raised really will make such a difference to children everywhere, so I hope as many people as possible come along and support it.’
Dermott added: ‘We’re one big team at Soccer Aid for UNICEF, united by a goal to help protect play for children everywhere, and I’m thrilled to be part of that team once again this year.
‘For millions of children around the world, conflicts and disasters are destroying their safe spaces to play and hunger and disease are leaving them unable to grow up healthy and strong.
‘Buying a ticket for this year’s star-studded match will help give children a chance to grow up happy and healthy and, whoever you support, I know it’s going to an absolutely fantastic night at Stamford Bridge.’
The match will be commentated by Sam Matterface and Iain Stirling, with half-time entertainment still to be announced.

Since 2006, Soccer Aid has raised over £90 million, all supporting UNICEF’s vital work helping millions of children around the world have happy, healthy, play-filled childhoods. Soccer Aid for UNICEF 2023, at Old Trafford, raised a record-breaking £14.6 million.
Soccer Aid for UNICEF 2024 will take place on Sunday 9th June, at Stamford Bridge. Two adults and two children can attend for £60. Tickets include access to a pre-game ‘Fan Zone’ and ‘Player Arrivals Area’.
