“Immense worlds envelop you through a super ultrawide display. A screen as wide as two quad high definition monitors delivers maximum space to take in all the pin-sharp detail.”

Ever since I opted for a multi-monitor setup, I haven’t looked back. Whether it’s spreading my work out, watching something in the background, or engrossing myself in a flight sim, there’s simply nothing like it. The only issues are the pesky bezels between several screens. That’s where super ultrawide displays come in, and what better time to grab one than when it’s on sale.

Samsung Odyssey OLED G9 is one of the best of its kind, fusing two screens into one single mega monitor. It’s called DQHD for a reason since it’s identical to two 1440p monitors side by side. In fact, its 49in span and 1800R curve make it look like it’s reaching out to hug you, but that’s all part of the immersion.

Right now, Amazon US is running a limited-time deal where the savings are as big as the display. Taking 39% off the price tag, $1,099.99 is the cheapest it has ever been. Of course, that’s still a big investment, but it’s one you won’t regret.

Discounts aren’t as competitive on Amazon UK, but there’s still a 3% offer, bringing it down to £1,549.97. Amazon Italy similarly saves you 4% at €1,149.

OLED is my favourite panel type in recent years, packing the quickest 0.03ms response times, near-infinite contrast ratios, and true blacks. In this case, that’s paired with DisplayHDR True Black 400, too. Samsung, specifically, pioneers the Quantum Dot (QD) layer, that makes colours always look bolder.

It’s a similar panel to the one in our Gigabyte Aorus CO49DQ review. The only difference is that Samsung boasts a much faster 240Hz refresh rate. You’ll need a lot of horsepower to hit that ceiling in games, but it’s better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it. Even just seeing my cursor glide along smoother than ever is satisfying enough.

As I mentioned above, this is a limited-time deal in the US. Amazon doesn’t say how many have flown off the shelves, but you don’t have much time to grab one before the discount’s gone. I recommend you try it out for yourself using the retailer’s 30-day money-back guarantee. If you don’t like it, just send it back within one month of purchasing for a full refund.
