Cougar’s fish tank style chassis is more spaceship than PC case

Cougar has outdone itself with its new FV270 RGB chassis offering a breath-taking view of any PC components inside. At a reasonable price, the brand offers one of the best-looking cases on the market that will surely leave many jaws dropped.

Just when you think you’ve seen it all, a great take on established formulas emerges out the blue. While Cougar hasn’t reinvented the wheel with FV270 RGB, it serves as a prime example of a damn good looking case. Using the much-loved fish tank design, the brand has extended the front glass portion further towards the middle giving it a gorgeous curve around the front-left edge. Additionally, the angle of both the frontal left and right sides of FV270 RGB angle connect to the main body in a smooth, spaceship-like feel.

Everything about it screams sci-fi., from the clean white frame to the infinity mirror fan hubs. That’s not forgetting those RGB-lit lines on the fan frames too. At a glance, it seems like there’s a Tron Light Cycle race going on inside FV270 RGB.

That said, what’s a spaceship worth if it can’t adequately support its inhabitants? Thankfully, FV270 RGB has room for everything, including E-ATX motherboards, 450mm graphics cards – in vertical installation, 180mm height CPU coolers, and 250mm long PSUs. Storage-wise, we get space for four 2.5in drives – two of which also support 3.5in HDDs.

When it comes to cooling, FV270 RGB has ample dimensions (268mm x 530mm x 512mm) that leave plenty of room for fans. Cougar says the case can fit up to three 120mm fans up top, two 120mm at the front, one 120mm at the rear, and three 120mm on the bottom. The company angles one of the latter three for an added bit of flair too. Cougar hasn’t forgotten about liquid cooling aficionados either, as FV270 RGB supports 360mm radiators up top, 280mm at the front, 240mm on the bottom, and 140mm at the rear.

FV270 RGB comes equipped with four pre-installed RGB fans, connected to an hub which sport fan and RGB headers. It also features tool-less removable top and bottom brackets, simplifying fan and radiator installation. Plus, Cougar covers every intake with a removable mesh filter to protect your components from pet fur and dust, be it from Earth or outer space. Lastly, for I/O we find one USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C, two USB 3.0 Type A ports, and a four-pole audio jack.

FV270 RGB is available in black and white and priced at $179 on Newegg. Not bad for the package on hand.
