Former Coronation Street star Stephanie Davis has opened up on how she met her current boyfriend when they were both at their ‘low point’.

The actress, 31, who played Courtney Vance on the soap, went public with her current boyfriend Joseph Mckalroy, 28, in 2022 following her split from her previous beau Oliver Tasker.

Reflecting on how they met, she told OK!: ‘I think we met at quite a low point, and I kind of put the light back in his life, and he put the light back in mine.’

She added: ‘Together we both blossomed and created a beautiful life together. Couples normally go through the hard times later on, but we met each other when we hadn’t much to offer to be honest.’

Joseph previously heaped praise on his girlfriend after she landed her role in Coronation Street.

‘Sooo proud of you @stephaniedavis88 on your new journey,’ he wrote on social media. ‘You’ve worked soo hard and you deserve the world and more love you more than you’ll ever know.’

Stephanie shares a son, Caben, six, with her ex-partner Jeremy McConnell, 32, whom she embarked on a relationship with during their time in Celebrity Big Brother.

Stephanie entered the world of acting at just seven years old when she starred as Gretl von Trapp in the Liverpool Empire Theatre’s production of The Sound Of Music.

She went on to score guest roles in the likes of Holby CityDoctors, Parents of the Band, and television movie The Outsiders.

In 2010, she took part in TV competition Over The Rainbow in which legendary composer Andrew Lloyd Webber searched for an actor to play Dorothy Gale in The Wizard of Oz, where she placed seventh.
