Britney Spears was seen barefoot and in tears in the middle of the night outside the Chateau Marmont, sparking concerns that’s she’s in the midst of a mental health crisis.
The singer, 42, was pictured wrapped in a blanket, clutching a pillow, and partially dressed, as she was led outside to emergency services in the early hours of the morning Thursday.
Spears appeared distressed as she exited the hotel alongside her security team and her boyfriend, Paul Richard Soliz.
With a fire truck spotted at the Hollywood hotel and a man wheeling a stretcher carrying the star’s belongings, the situation seemed dire.
Spears reportedly did not get in the ambulance, and instead left with her security team and without her boyfriend.
According to sources that spoke to TMZ, Britney was ‘out of control’ in the hotel and harassing other guests. Paramedics were called as hotel staff feared the singer was ‘having a mental breakdown.’
According to the outlet’s sources, Britney and Paul got into an altercation in their hotel room that ‘turned physical.’
Adding to the worry, Spears posted a cryptic message on Instagram, alleging that the photos were of ‘body doubles’ and claiming that she’s ‘getting stronger every day.’
She wrote: ‘Most of the pics are body doubles and I think most know that !!! I would like respect at this time for people to understand I am getting stronger everyday !!! Truth sucks so can someone teach me how to lie???
‘Goddesses out there, I’m reaching my higher power and furthermore, I hope you guys are too !!! I need a new toothbrush right now!!! PS … I need an espresso. !!! PSS … Not sure why I feel the need to share this … I guess I’m just a girl and I’m on my period so I’m bitchy … s**t !!!
A spokesman from the Los Angeles fire department, Brian Humphrey, confirmed: ‘Emergency services received a call at 12.42am with reports of an adult female injured.
‘At 1am an ambulance arrived on the premises. I can confirm no-one was transported. Services left the scene at 1.17am. The police department were not called.’
The incident draws parallels to Spears’ turbulent past, including her infamous 2007 head-shaving episode and subsequent entry into a conservatorship in 2008, leading fans to worry for her well being.
Spears recently finalized her divorce from her third husband Hesam ‘Sam’ Asghari, who she was separated from for nine months after just 14 months of marriage.
The Baby One More Time singer also recently settled the legal case with her father, Jamie, over her controversial conservatorship.
A source told The Sun that Britney and her legal team decided to settle in order to ‘protect her from reliving the traumas of her conservatorship.’
The judge ruled that Britney will have to pay her father’s legal fees, estimated to be $2million (£1.5million) as well as her own. She will not receive any money from the case.
Britney addressed the ruling in a now-deleted post, alongside a mirror selfie of herself in a thong.
‘I was actually right about nerve damage in my back !!! I have to get acupuncture every day of my life now !!! Words and thinking too hard make it worse !!! If people only knew how I’ve had to crawl to my own door one time!!!’ she began.
She then went on to seemingly reference the ruling, writing: ‘My family hurt me !!! There has been no justice and probably never will be !!! The people who sat and did absolutely nothing when they did that for four months are smooth sailing.
‘The way I was brought up I was always taught the formative of right and wrong but the very two people who brought me up with that method hurt me !!! I am so lucky to be here!!!’
Britney admitted that she had never told them this ‘face to face’, and that she probably never will as it ‘would not be safe.’
‘It’s funny ‘cus till this very day I haven’t told them face to face !!! I text through IG but I honestly believe it will not be so safe if I ever did go face to face so !!! The child in me knows they would be destroyed and that’s basically it!!!’
She concluded by writing: ‘I do miss my home in Louisiana and I wish I could visit but they took everything!!!.’
Britney then deleted her entire Instagram account.
