Noctua gives some love to the uncommon 60mm fan size

Noctua is expanding its premium product lineup with a compact fan series targeting DIY and industrial customers. Thanks to their size, these fans can fit in devices like NAS enclosures and oscilloscopes.

The NF-A6x15 is a 60mm fan lineup featuring four slightly different models: NF-A6x15 PWM, NF-A6x15 FLX, NF-A6x15 5V PWM, NF-A6x15 5V. As their name implies, some are PWM while others are DC driven by five or 12 volts. The 5V version is especially handy on devices that don’t include a fan header by design. You can even use an external transformer, a battery bank, or USB power with the included adapter.

Though uncommon on computers, 60mm fans are fairly present in small or industrial machines like NAS enclosures, 3D printers, oscilloscopes, and other types of tools. Moreover, this series offers a slimmer 15mm thickness, making it perfect for machines that can’t house the larger NF-A6x25 models.

“The NF-A6x25 has been very popular over the years, but some devices and applications that use 60mm fans can only fit slimmer models with up to 15mm thickness – this is where the new NF-A6x15 steps in,” explains Noctua CEO Roland Mossig.

Design-wise, NF-A6x15 features improved aerodynamics and flow acceleration channels, boosting cooling performance. Noctua’s signature rubberised frame and mounts ensure minimal vibration transmission for a quiet and smooth operation. Regarding specs, the brand claims up to 23.4m³/h of airflow and 2.43mmH₂O of static pressure at 19,8dB(A) of noise.

In the box, you get a low-noise adapter, an extension cable for those long runs, a splitter to power two fans, and rubber anti-vibration mounts to secure the fan. Note that Noctua also offers the NA-SC1 Sx2, which is a 3-way PWM splitter if you want to power three fans from a single header.

The NF-A6x15 series starts as low as €9.90 / $9.90, and each is backed by a six-year warranty.
